Conscious cardigans for Christmas Eve! And a new Collaboration for 2025.
I am reflecting as I return from a mini-manufacturing & miracle trip this Christmas. I’ve been serving luxury clients since 2000 – 25 years in business. Connection is everything in the Conscious Creation process but so is bonding which requires going the extra mile (or flight!)
This trip was only for a micro-batch production of 75 cardigans (in 10 sizes) being completed and packed to perfection. It still gives me enormous pride to do this. They’ll be ready for delivery on the 2nd January.
Weary from late travels, they suggested my meeting be combined with coming to their afternoon Christmas party! Textiles & Turkish dancing! I felt so touched by the gesture. Being a fashionista, I brought my best vintage & sustainable bling dress to change into. What a great first impression they gave me. A gift for going the extra mile.
I inspect every factory I make garments in by visiting in person as it enables authenticity, transparency, pride in product and processes. Most importantly, meeting the people behind the ‘seams’. They understand you and you them, on a deeper level. From the product, the people and the processes. It’s always fascinating! No matter my holidays or the impact on my profits – I always prioritise these visits. It shows your commitment to collaboration & to your clients. It provides me a level of insight and depth of ‘knowing’ first hand – making even greater possibilities happen, something I teach in my book – The Textile Touch. Being on the ground means I’m present – perhaps stumbling across an idea or discovering they could manufacture another client’s item – opening up a second supply chain possibility. It may save time, or money (sometimes) but it always allows for better management – saving headaches or hassle for anything from a napkin, a full collection or simply a cardigan.
Designer conscious clothing, collections & unique uniforms with aligned signature style. Proud to partner family factories with ethical high quality design, world class makers & materials. Being made to last in beauty & practicality for the person. Why I love repeating uniforms is perfecting a little more each time.
It still gives me such a thrill to see in person this as a work of art.
Tired and wired with a flight to catch at 1am Christmas morning, I took myself into a hamman (Turkish bath) for a post party / pre flight revival. The miracle was to make Christmas in Dubai with my Brother, Sister-in-law, my Mum and Nieces at a snip of the price.
A convenient half-way stopping point for a 3rd of the price of flying direct and, even better, was flying from Bristol, just 38 mins from my new home – arriving in Istanbul 6 hours later including waiting time. Feels miraculous. Feels superb. Aligning manufacturing for more of my current and future client projects for 2025.
Perfection takes patience, expertise & ethics.
