At Bespoke Textiles, we specialise in designing uniforms that blend heritage, functionality, and contemporary elegance. Our latest project saw us creating bespoke staff uniforms for the Queen of Cups, an historic 17th-century coaching inn in Glastonbury, Somerset, now transformed into a vibrant Modern Middle Eastern Michelin Bib restaurant.
The Queen of Cups is led by Ayesha Kalaji, a classically trained French chef with a passion for Modern Middle Eastern cuisine. Having recently featured on The Great British Menu, Ayesha has reimagined this historic venue as a destination for exquisite sharing plates and a warm, welcoming dining experience.
When Ayesha approached us, she wanted unique, branded aprons and merchandise that mirrored the exquisite style & quality of the food and branding. Our team crafted designs that pay homage to the venue’s heritage while ensuring comfort, durability, and effortless style for the staff. We also made a branded tote bag with rich burgundy embroidery & are working on burgundy chef aprons that can be bought by the customers with rich gold embroidery!
The result is a stunning collection of uniforms that complement the Queen of Cups’ distinctive atmosphere. My daughter, Honor, a waitress at The Queen of Cups, even had the opportunity to model the design, showcasing its beauty and timeless appeal – and the pride it brings out in the team (as i talk about in my book ~ The Textile Touch ~ it takes 7 seconds to make a first impression!).
We are delighted to have contributed to this exciting project and can’t wait to see the Queen of Cups continue to thrive as a standout culinary destination in Somerset.
On a personal note, I feel incredibly proud and privileged that my daughter and I have been able to bring the sustainable values we live and breathe to this ancient, mystical town and its vibrant community of hidden talent – a place we are now proud to call home.
